Hamburger Surprise

Hamburger Surprise although you don't see the hamburger it's there
A friend joined me for dinner tonight and I told him about my blog. So we decided finally upon eating hamburgers. Home made hamburgers with a bit of cheating since the meat was already minced and the spices were not fress. I must say it was a surprise that it turned out okay and also how much fun I have in writing the recipe's down on the blog (I expected it to only do it once a week).

Utils:

  • Double sided grill
  • Standard kitchen utils (knife and chopping board)
  • Baking paper

Ingredients:

  • Parrano cheese
  • Sliced onion
  • Sliced tomato
  • Lettuce
  • Yofresh (see previous posts)
  • 250 grams minced meat (for two hamburgers)
  • Honey
  • Italian spiced sandwich (in ball form)

Spices:

  • Hamburger mix (used half since it was for 500 grams minced meat)
  • 1/2-3/4 thee spoon chili powder
  • 1/2-3/4 thee spoon paprika powder

Recipe:

Mix the minced meat with the spices and add about half to 1 table spoon of honey. Divide the mixture in to two patty's. Put the hamburgers on the baking paper and add some honey on top of it and next to it. Now wrap the hamburgers in the baking paper in put them in the double sided grill. Put it in here for 10-12 minutes or how long you like it your self. After the hamburger is done slice open the bread put the hamburger, lettuce, yofresh, onions and tomato's on it and your done.

Result:

Very nice with a bit of a kick.

Leftovers chicken sandwich disaster

Okay so here's the deal I had some leftovers from yesterday's first dish attempt. Feeling more than a bit peckish i decided to use the leftovers with a few substitutions. I can say it was worth it!!!! This is one of those dishes that starts very simple and you can add what ever you like.

UTENSILS:

  • A panini maker or two sided toaster/grill
  • Oven
  • Standard kitchen utils (knife, chopping board)

INGREDIENTS:

  • A couple of ham slices
  • Half a ciabatta bread (I used a ciabatta bread that you can finish in the oven bought from the supermarket)
  • Half onion sliced
  • Some lettuce leaves
  • 1 Tomato (medium size) sliced
  • Parrano (Italian cheese or any cheese you like)
  • Yofresh (a kind of yoghurt mayonnaise ) optional

RECIPE:

Okay so for the people that read my first recipe it is clear that this is way easier and quicker to make. Just bake your bread to near completion. Slice it open add the ham slices and cheese and put it in the panini maker/grill. When the cheese is molten to your liking take it out add the other ingredients to liking and your done.

Results:

Scrumptious!!!!!!! And more importantly easy to make.

Chicken Sandwich Disaster

Chicken sandwich disaster (although it tasted okay/good)
Well the title is a bit misleading I didn't find it that much of a disaster, although I must say looking at the picture it doesn't look that appetizing. This is the first post and first try of something I never did before myself. The idea was to create a somewhat spicy chicken sandwich.

Okay let's start what do we need to recreate this first dish.

Utensils:

  • A panini maker or two sided toaster/grill
  • Oven
  • Baking paper
  • Standard kitchen utils (knife, chopping board)

Ingredients:

  • 1 Chicken breast filet
  • Half a ciabatta bread (I used a ciabatta bread that you can finish in the oven bought from the supermarket)
  • Half onion sliced
  • Some lettuce leaves
  • 1 Tomato (medium size) sliced
  • Olive oil (2-4 table spoons)
  • Parrano (Italian cheese)
  • Yofresh (a kind of yoghurt mayonnaise)

Spices:

(also bought from supermarket not fresh)
  • Paprika powder (about 3/4 thee spoon)
  • Chili powder (about 1/2 thee spoon)
  • Cayenne powder (about 3/4 thee spoon)

Recipe:

Okay so first in a small bowl/glass/cup mix the spices with the olive oil. After this cover the chicken filet with this mixture. Make sure that the whole out side is covered.Warm op the panini maker/grill. Wrap the chicken up in the backing paper so it is a nice bundle. When the panini maker/grill is warm put it in here for 8-10 minutes. Make sure it gets cooked all the way through. While the chicken is grilling bake the ciabatta bread to near completion. Cut the bread open. Now put the cooked chicken on the bread and add the Parrano cheese (the amount is to your own liking). Put the bread with the chicken and the cheese back into the panini maker/grill. After a couple of minutes (depending on how molten you like your cheese) take it out and add the lettuce leaves, some yofresh to your own liking. Then add the onion and tomato. And that's it.

Result:

Well  I liked the result so i am calling this weeks recipe a success!! I am already looking forward to next weeks try!!
